Set up and use your own domain with Evercate
It is possible to connect your own subdomain to your Evercate account. If you add your own domain, this will be the domain used for your Evercate account in the future. You will always keep your licens.evercate.com address as well, but the new address will be the one used in links, invitations, and anywhere else your users interact with Evercate.
To connect your own domain to Evercate, you need access to your DNS. This is often accessed via your web host or registrar.
If you are unsure how to proceed with this guide, it may be a good idea to involve your IT department or someone else involved with your website to help.
For the rest of this guide, we will pretend that we work for The Example Corp and that our domain is example.com.
- Create a new DNS pointer.
- Give the new pointer the subdomain of your choice, for example training.example.com. (In this case, the subdomain will be "training", since example.com is our domain).
- For the type of pointer, select CNAME.
- For Time To Live (TTL), you can leave the default value or set any value.
- For Target/Value (a CNAME entry always has a different address as target), type application.evercate.com.
- Once you have set up your new DNS record, you must then notify our support team so that we can make the final changes to our site. Send an email to support@evercate.com and include your current evercate.com address and the domain and subdomain you configured in the steps above.
Once we have connected everything on our side, you will automatically be assigned an SSL certificate for the new domain. The changes will take effect automatically and no further action is required on your part.
